Further Council Tax Increases Under Labour

All of us will once again bear the brunt of Labour’s fourth consecutive Council Tax increase. Since the  Labour  administration came to power in 2014, Council tax was   increased by 1.99% for 2015, then by 3.99% in 2016, followed by a 4.99% increase in 2017. As if this was not bad enough, they have increased the Council tax by a further 3.49% for 2018.  A total increase of just under 14.5% across the 4 years. This means a Band D Council Tax payer will have paid £421 more since 2014. This is the  largest increase anywhere in London.

Harrow Conservative councillors have opposed each of these increases in Council Tax, but Labour forced them through anyway. The hard working residents of Harrow are fed up with this year-on-year increase. Whilst we are paying more, Council services are getting worse. There has been a massive increase in littering and fly-tipping across Harrow. We have also seen Harrow featured on TV News with hoards of rats scurrying across our public spaces.
