Our pledge to reduce brown bin charge to £40 for 12 months

When the Labour controlled Council introduced the charge for Garden Waste Collection, residents across Harrow were outraged. Already paying one of the highest levels of Council Tax in London, Harrow’s tax payers are now being asked to pay one of the highest charges for collecting the Brown Bins. This is wrong.

Harrow Conservatives have pledged to reduce the charge from £75 to £40 as well as taking all the steps needed to meet the aim of emptying the bins first time,  every time. We have noticed that complaints have more than doubled. People are fed up. They are paying more and getting less. This must change.

Reducing the charge to £40 is an important first step to fixing our broken bin collection service.
