Visit My Mosque Day

The 5th of February 2017 was #VisitMyMosque Day. This is an annual UK event organised by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), now in its 3rd year. Visit my Mosque day is a fantastic opportunity for local residents to visit their local Mosque and meet with the Muslim community, to gain a better understanding of the Islamic faith and a chance to ask any questions.

I visited the Sri Lankan Muslim Cultural Centre in Whitefriars Avenue, Wealdstone where I was made to feel very welcome by all. This was my first visit to a Mosque and I came away learning so much about the Muslim faith & the history of Islam and the role the Mosque plays in the local community, including the charitable work and fundraising projects.
