Marilyn, Philip and Zak are working hard to ensure that Stanmore ward is kept clean and tidy and that those who fly-tip are fined. They are very pleased with the winter hanging baskets in the District Centre and that the lovely Christmas tree once again has taken pride of place along the Broadway. They recognise that roadworks have been a cause for concern. This is an unavoidable consequence of emergency repairs by the utility companies. On the bright side, the Council is pressing ahead with road resurfacing and pothole repairs as it continues to clear the highways maintenance backlog. They are hopeful that the new Local Plan will be adopted, which will protect suburban areas like Stanmore from inappropriate developments.
