Ameet Jogia has represented Canons Ward for over ten years, first elected to Harrow Council in 2014. Born in Edgware, Ameet lives in Stanmore and is deeply passionate about serving the local community and representing local interests.
By background, Ameet has been a Political Adviser for the Conservative Party for over 10 years. Most recently, he was the Political Adviser at 10 Downing Street to former Prime Minister Rt Hon Rishi Sunak as his adviser for faith, race and diverse communities.
Ameet is committed to public service. He is a School Governor for local school, North London Collegiate Girls School and is also a serving Magistrate in North West London.
Within the council, Ameet is Chair of Harrow Council’s Traffic Advisory and Road Safety Panel.
Ameet is Co-Chairman of the Conservative Friends of India, the largest affiliate group in the Party. He has previously stood as a Conservative Parliamentary Candidate in nearby Hendon and Brent North.
Ameet was awarded an MBE for Political and Public Services in June 2022.
